Second Life and apparel

I've been hanging out in SL longer than a cat clings to a sunbeam, hopping around on a few avatars. I've watched clothes come and go like a fashion parade with a revolving door. First, there were prim clothes, then flexi prims waltzed into jazz things up. I took a little vacation from SL and returned to find bling everywhere. Seriously, if I were a raven, I'd have gone full klepto trying to snatch all the shiny stuff. Bling, I shake my head knowingly. Then came mesh, crashing the scene like a rockstar, and it hasn't stopped rocking since. Mesh is like that irresistible crush, but then there are the mesh divorces... oh, the drama. New and improved always seems to strut by, making you toss out everything you've built like yesterday's leftovers. Come on, folks, give some love to the OG avatars. SL wasn't always a sparkly, mesh-filled wonderland; it used to be more like a digital Lego set!
After getting back together with my original avi, I started being super careful with her. We had tons of chats about what she wanted to do with her life. Her friend, who’s now my go-to avi, was sitting there pregnant while my OG kept nudging me. I was busy buying clothes for her and everyone else at all sorts of prices, and then one day, we both had this bright idea that she wanted to start making clothes for everyone. What was she thinking? And what did I get myself into? But hey, we're happy... creating stuff we might actually wear...
I have become adept at listening more attentively in my groups and engaging in local chats and group discussions. This has significantly enhanced my understanding of what women want and need. I've learned about the mesh bodies that are no longer receiving updates because the prominent ones dominate the market. I've also discovered some "project" mesh bodies, like BombShell, which lack sufficient clothing options. As a result, I've been purchasing and assembling outfits. Some are available on the Marketplace, while others are still in progress. Occasionally, I encounter models in my newly purchased folders and find mesh bodies that make me wonder about their purpose. Yet, I create for them because someone might need clothing for that mesh. I recall my first mesh body, which I relegated to a "rest in pieces" folder due to its troublesome hands. It's amusing to see so many apparel models for her now, so I design for her as well. One day, she might emerge from her folder and require something to wear, and there could be others seeking fresh clothing for their avatars.
It's crazy how much these clothing models cost now, and the PBR is just mind-blowing... but honestly, they're gorgeous in so many ways. I've grabbed a few items, learned a lot from them, and picked up tons from the MP. I'm trying to be generous by selling the older clothes at lower prices. I remember when I was trying to figure out the mesh, the alphas, the clipping... it was so frustrating. I know that as more people join, they'll want something to wear just like I did...
I've dabbled in the art of construction but quickly realized I'm more of a "slap some paint on it" kind of person—definitely a decorator, not a builder, LOL. I spend enough time constructing my virtual dream homes to know that claiming any building expertise would be a tall tale. I'm currently wrestling with GIMP and Blender, trying not to wake up in a cold sweat, LOL... but seriously, it's all good. Sure, I get a bit flustered, and my poor little avatar catches the brunt of it, but hey... it's all in the name of fun!
Clothes... I am absolutely thrilled about clothes! From every era—medieval to modern to futuristic—I'm bursting with ideas and can't wait to dive into them all, even though there's never enough time... LOL! But who knows? By the time I leave this world, I might just have something incredible to share. Oh, and I ADORE flexi! Flexi isn't just for the slaves and erotic dancers; it's for everyone who wants to twirl in beautiful dresses with a touch of flexi skirt at elegant SL venues, making the magic truly come alive!
Be awesome, kiddos! I've got to go check out some real-life breakfast!
